Remote water quality monitoring solution used by the Environment Audit Committee
Sep 11 2022
Visitors to WWEM 2022 can experience a demonstration of continuous water quality monitoring that was provided to the UK Government’s Environment Audit Committee (EAC) during its investigation into river water quality.
Amidst growing concern with bathing water quality and the impact of effluent discharge and CSOs, the committee was keen to learn whether water resources could be protected by continuous monitoring. As a proven specialist in this area Meteor Communications have been installing and operating remote water quality monitoring systems all over the UK for customers such as water utilities and the environmental regulators for many years. Meteor therefore provided the EAC with a live demonstration – logging into remote water quality monitors (ESNET - Environmental Sensor NETwork) systems to view current and historical water quality trends and incidents.
WWEM visitors to the Meteor stand (Q11) will be able to see an ESNET system and select a river to view its water quality status. With independent power and communications, ESNET systems are quick and easy to install, and Meteor’s experts will be on hand to explain how ESNET Systems can be either purchased or provided as part of the company’s ‘Water Quality as a Service’ package.
