SENSOR+TEST 2023 reignites success as premier international event for sensor, measurement, and testing technology

After three exciting days at the SENSOR+TEST 2023 trade fair, exhibitors and AMA Service GmbH, the organiser, were delighted to announce the resounding success of the event. Drawing in over 5,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad, the fair experienced a remarkable increase in visitors of 20 percent compared to the 2022 event. With a strong international presence, 40 percent of the 338 exhibitors hailed from abroad. SENSOR+TEST has once again cemented its position as a leading global platform for cutting-edge sensor technology, measurement solutions, and testing innovations.

The halls exuded an atmosphere of optimism as exhibitors enjoyed personal encounters with customers and business partners from around the world. In addition to addressing everyday challenges, forward-thinking topics such as energy efficiency, climate protection, sustainability, and artificial intelligence took centre stage in numerous technical discussions. "The trade fair reflects the industry's excitement, with attendees embracing future-oriented themes alongside traditional responsibilities," remarked Holger Bödeker, the organiser, expressing his satisfaction with the overwhelming response. Despite the ongoing challenging conditions, SENSOR+TEST 2023 showcased significant progress, approaching pre-pandemic levels of participation.

The international allure of SENSOR+TEST 2023 was evident with 133 exhibiting companies from 26 countries, reaching attendance figures comparable to the pre-COVID era. Visitors from across the globe constituted 27% of the total attendees. By successfully hosting SENSOR+TEST 2023, an important message has been conveyed to the industry. "We extend our sincere gratitude to our exhibitors and visitors, who once again placed their trust in us this year," stated Elena Schultz, authorised signatory of AMA Service GmbH.

Jan Tippner, sales manager at Delphin Technology AG, affirmed the exhibitors' satisfaction, stating, "SENSOR+TEST underscored the significance of trade fairs for the industry. The atmosphere was overwhelmingly positive, and we engaged in numerous fascinating conversations."

In a first for this year's edition, a job lounge was integrated into the program. Over two days, SENSOR+TEST exhibitors presented their human resources-related topics to an interested audience. The event featured a job exchange and a Career Centre, enabling more extensive recruitment opportunities. The "Job Lounge" introduced a novel format to foster targeted connections between specialists and companies. "SENSOR+TEST provides an ideal platform, and we will continue expanding our supportive initiatives to address the skilled labour shortage in the coming years. It is our responsibility to actively facilitate connections and bring key stakeholders together," explained Elena Schultz.

The sponsored joint stand "Innovation Made in Germany" showcased new developments from emerging companies to an engaged audience for the sixteenth consecutive year.

Additionally, from May 8th to 11th, Nuremberg hosted the inaugural SMSI 2023 (Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference), which facilitated networking among national and international representatives from research, science, industry, and state institutions. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schmid from Vienna University of Technology, the conference leader, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, "SMSI 2023 offered an exceptional platform for exchanging the latest research findings and impressed attendees with its distinguished lectures, poster sessions, and Science Slam."

Looking ahead, the next SENSOR+TEST is scheduled to take place from June 11th to 13th, 2024, at its traditional home in Nuremberg. "We are planning to occupy two full halls, but that's not all. We aim to expand the trade fair by introducing an application area and various themed sections to offer visitors even more targeted information," announced Elena Schultz.
