Innovations in calibration to be highlighted at SENSOR + TEST 2024

SENSOR+TEST 2024, scheduled for June 11 to 13 in Nuremberg, will feature a new addition known as the "Calibration Area." This specialised section of the show will revolve around the theme of "Innovative Calibration" and aims to be a focal point for developments in sensor and measuring technology calibration, with a strong focus on digital concepts and the challenges inherent in calibration processes.

Calibration has become a major concern for many organisations. As the number of sensors and measuring points in use continues to rise, the adoption of modern digital and automated calibration methods has become a key factor for sensor users.

SENSOR+TEST 2024 provides visitors with a unique opportunity to gain a firsthand perspective on the calibration domain. The "Calibration Area" will host various exhibitors who will show off their latest developments, applications and services. This area will include a variety of participants, including calibration laboratories and renowned institutions.

The "Calibration Area" is not simply a gathering of booths, but serves as a platform for creating dialogue on innovation. Paired with an open Technology Forum, it facilitates interaction among manufacturers, calibration service providers, and end-users.

The Technology Forum offers a morning program featuring best-practice lectures by exhibitors, where they can present their established applications. In the afternoon, visitors can participate in tutorials and special sessions to delve deeper into topics such as the International System of Units (SI), traceability, measurement uncertainty, calibration strategies in various fields, and the digital evolution of calibration. It also covers current developments and challenges, such as digitally networked measurement systems, quantum-based and cognitive sensors and measurement systems. The international context of technological development and regulation, including the intriguing concept of the "Digital Calibration Certificate," will also be highlighted.

The event will be enhanced by the presence of globally renowned institutions such as PTB, NIST, Fraunhofer, VDI/VDE-GMA, Leibniz-IPHT, BIPM, TU Darmstadt, who will share their insights with visitors. This offers attendees an invaluable opportunity to tap into a wealth of expert knowledge and establish crucial contacts for their projects.
