50 Percent of Booths Already Sold in China's First Water Business Exhibition

Water Expo China + Water Membrane China, China’s first water business exhibition continues to attract domestic and international exhibitors with 50 per cent of booths already sold for the show which takes place 29 – 31 October 2012 at the China National Convention Center, Beijing, China.

The three-day show is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai), the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society and the Membrane Industry Association of China. The event is approved by China’s Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology, and sponsored by the Ministry of Water Resources. In 2011, the show attracted 328 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions and more than 18,000 visitors from 34 countries and regions. The exhibition space was 22,000 sqm, covering four halls.

Among the confirmed 130 exhibitors for the 22,000 sqm show are Aquaporin (Denmark), GE (US), Hanmee (Korea), Passavant-Geiger GmbH (Germany), PPM (UK), Schlumberger Water Services (Canada), s::can Messtechnik GmbH (Austria), Straub Werke AG (Switzerland), Suntar (Singapore), Veolia Water (France), Woongjin Chemical (Korea) and YSI Incorporated (US). Chinese exhibitors include Andritz, Bauer, Beijing Capital Water, Beijing WellinTech Development Co Ltd, Duoyuan Global Water Inc, Focused Photonics, Sunstar, TBMC, Universtar Science & Technology (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, Woongjin Chemical, Xingxin, Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes Co Ltd and YiWen.

This year’s show is attracting pavilions and visitor delegations from Europe, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland and Taiwan and organisers are inviting 30,000 visitors from government departments, design institutes, water projects, water agents and associations.

Companies can take advantage of the opportunities arising from the Chinese government’s 12th Five-Year Plan which outlines an annual RMB 400 billion spending to improve water resources. As well as exhibiting at the show, many exhibitors are raising their profile by taking part in product seminars and business matchmaking forums.

In response to the 12th Five-Year Plan, the show will cover eight important market sectors – service providers, water purification/ membrane, wastewater, pump, valves, irrigation, flood prevention and drought resistance, and sludge treatment and disposal. There will also be more than 40 technical conferences and presentations focussing on Chinese water policy, planning, design and operation, including the 7th China International Water Summit.

Part of the 7th China International Water Business Summit, held concurrently with the show, will include an award ceremony, initiated by the Ministry of Water Resources and organised by the Department of Water Resources Management, Ministry of Water Resources, the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society, China Environment Chamber of Commerce and Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai).
