Water/Wastewater
The Answer to Challenging Applications
Mar 31 2013
In close cooperation with their distributors and customers LAR Process Analysers (Germany) have developed a new reagent and filter-free QuickTOCultra product line that is based upon the unique thermal oxidation technique at 1200 degrees Celsius. It offers the ultimate solution for difficult applications integrating a unique injection system, a proven and patented catalyst-free oxidation technique and a multi-stream option in one analyser. Due to these features, the QuickTOCultra analyser has no problems in meeting the high online TOC measurement requirements for difficult waste water applications.
The method does not require dilution, catalysts or even filtration. A raw waste water sample is directly injected into the reactor, where all organic substances, including particles, are oxidised and measured with a NDIR detector. It is capable of handling a sodium chloride (NaCl) content as high as 30%. Due to the enormous expansion of the injected waste water sample, salts are vaporised and blown out of the reactor and collected in a specially designed reactor foot.
Blockages, defective reactors, replacement of parts and long downtimes belong to the past. The QuickTOCultra analysers have very low maintenance and operational costs, as well as high availability, resulting from the analysers' construction and high temperature technique. Additionally, the analysers use a complete and intuitive new software with touch screen, exceeding our wish to deliver a comprehensive, easy to understand and user-friendly solution in online analysis. To conclude, the aforementioned features and the possibility to measure up to six streams make these customised analysers extremely well suited to the monitoring and optimisation of industrial processes, as well as to their use in industrial and municipal waste water treatment plants.
