Defeating Salts
Mar 30 2012
LAR Process Analysers (Germany) and filter-free QuickTOCultra analyser uses a unique thermal oxidation technique at 1200°C. At this high temperature raw waste water samples, including particles, are fully oxidised and salts are easier to handle.
This method does not require dilution, catalysts or filtration. A sample is directly injected into the reactor, where the oxidised organic substances are measured with an NDIR detector. Due to the enormous expansion of the injected sample, the melted salts are blown out of the reactor and collected in a specially designed reactor foot.
Blockages, defective reactors, replacement parts and long downtime belong to the past. The QuickTOCultra analysers have very low maintenance, operational costs and high availability, as a result of its construction and combustion technique.
Operating with salt contents as high as 20% and the possibility to measure up to six streams makes these analysers most suitable for challenging waste water applications.
