AMA Conferences 2013: Programme Now Online

The AMA Conferences, SENSOR, OPTO, and IRS², are considered to be international networking platforms in sensor and measuring technology.

The up-to-date AMA Conference programme for 2013 is now online at http://j.mp/WKUMpY. The AMA Conferences 2013 comprise 230 first-rate presentations by international and national specialists from research and development. The latest results from the various disciplines provide international visitors with concentrated technical information. The SENSOR Conferences, under the technical direction of Professors Roland Werthschützky (Technical University of Darmstadt) and Reinhard Lerch (University of Erlangen-Nuremberg), is distinguished this year by an expanded programme. Besides physical principles, sensor technologies, sensor electronics, and applications, a special topic on gas sensors will be offered on Thursday.

The SENSOR Conferences will concentrate on mechanical sensors, flow, wireless, gas, and bio-sensors. Besides the sensor elements themselves, the corresponding measuring technology, such as electronics, signal evaluation, and modelling, will play a major role.

The OPTO Conference, directed by Professor Elmar Wagner (formerly Fraunhofer Institute IPM, Freiburg) focuses on the use of radiation in detection and measuring. Optical methods prove their outstanding characteristics in measuring applications. The emphasis this year is on the modelling aspects of measured objects in the measurement process.

The IRS² Conference, directed by Professor Gerald Gerlach (Technical University of Dresden), is to discuss the field of infrared sensors and measuring systems – an area of dynamic development. Improved performance and cost-cutting production methods have made new applications possible, for instance in industrial automation, building technology (HVAC), household appliances, and security technology. The IRS² 2013 is dedicated for the first time to this important topic in a session on “Recent Developments in the IR Industry.” The infrared sensors themselves as well as spectroscopy and thermal imaging will be further focal topics at the IRS² this year.

An accompanying joint poster session of all three conferences in the AMA Conference Area will show additional, interdisciplinary research approaches. The parallel SENSOR+TEST (Germany) trade fair, with more than 500 international exhibitors, invites the conference participants to an innovation dialogue and offers further networking opportunities.

Participation fee for all three AMA Conferences is 575 € per person for the three days or 350 € per day. AMA members and students pay a reduced fee.
