Digital Humidity and Temperature Sensors at SENSOR+TEST

The Austrian sensor specialist E+E Elektronik will present for the first time at the SENSOR+TEST 2016 the new digital humidity and temperature sensors EEH1100 and EEH2101. With several interfaces and supply voltages the sensors are highly versatile. The proprietary E+E coating protects the sensor against dirt and corrosion and leads to excellent long-term stability even in polluted environment.

Precise relative humidity adjustment and excellent temperature compensation lead to high accuracy of ±2% RH and ±0.3 °C (±0.5 °F). The measured values are available on I2C, PWM and PDM digital interfaces. Additionally, EEH2101 features a SPI interface, while EEH1100 an analogue output for relative humidity. The choice of supply voltage, 5 V for EEH1100 and 3 V for EEH2101, increases the versatility of the sensor. With very small dimensions of only 3.6 x 2.8 x 0.75 mm (0.14 x 0.11 x 0.03 inch), the sensors can also be used in applications with space restrictions.

By employing the E+E proprietary coating, originally developed for harsh industrial environment, EEH110 and EEH2101 set new standards for the digital humidity sensors. The coating optimally protects the sensor against dirt and corrosion, thus decisively increasing the long-term stability. Furthermore, it eliminates the need for additional protection for the sensor, such as filter caps, which leads to easy, compact design-in and significant space and cost savings.

EEH1100 and EE2101 are optimised for mass manufacturing and can be processed automatically. Typical applications are home appliances, smart home and consumer electronics.
