New versatile and precise temperature and humidity models added to leading digital range of sensors

E+E Elektronik has expanded its range of digital sensing elements with the addition of 2 new products. The new HTE301 humidity and temperature sensing element and the TEE301 temperature sensing element provide superb measurement precision and operate in in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 125 °C (-40 °F to 257 °F). The compact 8-pin DFN package with I2C interface and 4 individually configurable I2C addresses provides the perfect solution for demanding designs where only cutting-edge technology will do.

The new HTE and TEE301 sensors provide the same level of accuracy values that customers have come to expect from E+E, but offer a cost-optimised version of the HTE and TEE501 sensing elements introduced early in 2022. The new versions have a different data format - 16-bit unsigned integer - and pin assignment to E+E’s 501 series; the 301 models facilitate simple upgrades of existing applications with minimal integration effort required.

The HTE301 provides an impressive measurement accuracy of up to ±1.8% RH, including hysteresis, and ±0.2 °C. An integral constant current heater maintains the element at approximately 2-3 °C over-temperature so condensation will not be present on the sensing element, this leads to precise measurement and rapid response times even in locations with high levels of humidity. In addition, the proprietary E+E sensor coating protects the active sensor surface of the HTE301 against contamination and corrosion.

The TEE301 sensing element measures temperature with an accuracy of up to ±0.2 °C. Its broad temperature offers end-users an efficient and economical solution for making precise temperature measurements in harsh environments.

These sensing elements are available as an 8-pin DFN package with dimensions of just 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.9 mm3 to enable simple integration into existing systems; they offer four selectable I2C addresses and alert and reset functions.  The I2C interface leads to robust data communication with supporting communication speeds of up to 1,000 kHz.
