Powerful New Data Logger and Controller
Mar 27 2013
A powerful new 12 channel field data logger with advanced control capabilities has been announced by Delta-T Devices (UK).
The GP2 Data Logger is ideal for demanding research applications and field work. It is weatherproof, rugged, battery powered and comes with 12 differential analogue inputs and 2 relays as standard. It can log most sensors types and accepts voltage, resistance, current, potentiometer, counter, frequency and digital state inputs.
As the user’s needs change, the GP2 can grow and adapt. Expansion lids are available to provide additional cable entry points, and the number of relay outputs can be increased from 2 to 6.
Configuration is simple - DeltaLINK software makes it easy for the user set up logging sequences and provides control over reading frequency, sensor type, thresholds, units and much more.
The GP2 features a Script Editor which provides exceptional flexibility in defining control conditions, ranging from simple thresholding (e.g. soil moisture level) to sophisticated calculations (e.g. PID control, seasonality etc). The editor is easy to use - no programming language is involved.
The GP2 Logger also comes with a unique Simulator function allowing logging programs to be tested before real-world activation. The user can check whether the control logic and scripted actions respond to environmental stimuli as expected.
Its combination of power, sophistication and ease of use make the GP2 a winning choice for a huge range of applications.
