Lone Worker Safety Company Expands Headquarters and Enters German Marketplace

Jun 10 2014

Blackline GPS (Canada), a leader in Lone Worker Safety and asset tracking products, has signed a 5-year lease to expand their manufacturing headquarters by nearly 100%. Located in the Inglewood district of Calgary, Alberta the expanded facilities will accommodate Blackline’s Canadian operations including: product development, manufacturing, customer care and sales.

“Our decision to increase the Manufacturing, Customer Care and Onboarding divisions of the company
has been driven by the expanding product portfolio we are bringing to market,” says Kevin Meyers, Chief
Operating Officer for Blackline GPS. “Increasing our office, manufacturing and warehouse space to over
10,000 sq. ft. allows Blackline to garner many new efficiencies and manage our growth effectively for the
next few years.”

News of Blackline’s expansion falls immediately on the heels of a recently signed distributor agreement to
enter the German industrial marketplace with Dortmund, Germany’s NSHtec - a leading German
supplier of lone-worker safety systems.

“The fact that there are over 80 million people living in Germany makes this market one of the most
potentially significant for Blackline’s worker safety products,” says Gavin Boorman, Managing Director
for Blackline GPS Europe. “Germany is a highly regulated market, and our partnership with NSHtec, as a
stocking distributor with considerable experience selling lone worker solutions in Germany is a major
step forward for the company”.

Martin Schimanowski, Managing Director for NSHtec adds, “We are very happy to complement our own
smartphone offering for lone workers with the full product portfolio of Blackline GPS, in Germany,
Austria and Switzerland. We can now respond to a wider audience, in many more applications”.
Blackline opened their Essex, United Kingdom office in March of this year to better serve the EMEA or
European, Middle Eastern and African markets.
