New ATEX Approved UV/IR Flame Detectors
Mar 30 2011
Sierra Monitor Corporation (USA) now offers the Model 3600-L/LB UV/IR Optical Flame Detectors with ATEX approval. The 3600-L/LB used to monitor for flames from gasoline, methane, heptanes, ethanol, diesel fuel and other sources, senses the radiant energy of the flame in a short wave section of both the ultraviolet and infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The signals from both sensors are analyzed for the frequency, intensity and duration. Simultaneous detection in both the UV and IR sensors triggers an alarm signal and counters false alarms.
The SIL -2 rated, ATEX approved Model 3600-L/LB UV/IR Flame Detectors include a UV/IR Dual Sensor, solar blind, a heated window for operation in harsh environments, Multiple outputs: relays, 0-20 mA, HART, Modbus RTU (RS-485) and a Automatic Built-in Test (BIT) on LB model to assure continued reliable operation. The detector offers a high speed response of 150 msec, is reliable with a minimum of 150,000 hours MTBF and user programmable via HART.
