Gas detection
World’s first cellular-connected gas detector with integrated pump changes gas monitoring for confined space
Jul 12 2018
At the recent 27th World Gas Conference 2018 in Washington DC, Blackline Safety Corp. announced a new multi-gas cartridge with a built-in pump to monitor atmospheric hazards when entering confined spaces and performing leak checks.
“Around the world, thousands of employees enter confined spaces every day, including sewers, tanks, silos, storage bins and underground vaults,” says Glen Silver, Director of Sales, North America at Blackline Safety.
“Confined space entry is a high-risk, heavily regulated activity. Using our G7 Insight package with G7c detector, pump cartridge and online data analytics software, businesses will know which personnel are entering confined spaces, what spaces are being entered, the time spent inside and whether gases were encountered.”
Blackline’s G7c is the world’s first and only connected gas detector with plug-and-play gas sensor cartridges. Shipping in the fourth quarter of this year, all G7c detectors can be equipped with the new multi-gas pump cartridge for use during confined space entries and leak checks. Blackline offers customers a lifetime warranty for all gas sensors and pumps — should a sensor fail testing or calibration, or if a pump stops working — cartridges are easily replaced in seconds with no downtime and at no additional cost to the user.
“Businesses routinely perform leak check surveys but data collection and documentation is a manual process. With G7c and our new pump cartridge, all gas samples are automatically uploaded to the Blackline Safety Network, driving our data analytics software. If any leaks are found, businesses will know where they are and can plan proactive maintenance to reduce emissions and prevent issues from becoming worse over time,” says Mr. Silver.
Blackline’s new multi-gas pump cartridge is part of the award-winning G7 connected safety portfolio that delivers leading wireless gas detection, real-time compliance, business analytics and productivity-improvement within a single, wearable device.
G7 solutions are supported by industrial-grade, cloud-hosted software and services that support a range of options including a broad line of gas sensors, proprietary indoor location technology, real-time alerting to a live monitoring team, emergency response management, mass notifications, two-way voice calling and satellite connectivity.
