New Thermo Scientific Orion VERSA STAR Advanced Electrochemistry Meter & Modules

Mar 14 2012

With the Orion VERSA STAR meter, it’s all about you. You can customize the display, channels and view. The Orion VERSA STAR Meter features a large, color graphics display that can show only the information you want. With four module channels, mix and match modules – pH, ISE, conductivity and RDO/DO – to meet your testing needs now and later.

The entirely new platform of the Orion VERSA STAR benchtop meters and modules allows for up to four channels to be configured in any combination. The four available Orion VERSA STAR modules are: pH, pH/ISE, conductivity and dissolved oxygen. All four modules measure temperature and can be mixed and matched as you need to create your meter. The versatility of the Orion VERSA STAR meter and modules lets you pick the four parameters you want to measure in any combination, even four of the same for the ultimate in high throughput, and change modules out when you need to.

Having four channels that you define isn’t the only thing that makes the Orion VERSA STAR benchtop meters and modules unique. After you view your calibration data on the large, customizable display, if a mistake was made during calibration, calibration editing allows you to review your calibration data before saving and correct calibration errors. Calibration editing saves time while ensuring accurate results and without the need to repeat all the steps, it’s especially beneficial in a multipoint calibration. During calibration and testing, having a homogenous sample is important. The meter has two Orion Star stirrer ports, allowing sample mixing to be controlled directly by the meter and simultaneously with the reading.

Versatility is not limited to the meter channels and display. The Orion VERSA STAR benchtop meter includes a redesigned electrode holder. The redesigned holder head fits a variety of electrodes and probes, making for easy maintenance and less risk of damage to your electrodes. This holder also works with both dissolved oxygen probe designs. Since the meter accepts and automatically recognizes if the probe is an Orion polarographic or RDO optical/luminescence-based probe, there’s no need to choose your meter based off the DO probe you have, but the best for your application.

Making testing easier is a key benefit of the Orion VERSA STAR meter and modules. It’s easy to get data from the bright, color display with keys that update with the screen and a keypad with shortcut keys. The local language interface, plain language prompts and easy-to-understand graphics allows anyone to use the meter immediately, without instructions. The friendly interface lets users of any experience level use the advanced features, such as incremental methods for ISE. Easily transfer results to your computer, LIMS or software wedge program with the RS232 communication port or the two USB communication ports. The Orion VERSA STAR meter and modules compose a top-of-the-line meter with all the best features and options that anyone can benefit from, now and later.
