ARABLAB 2009, the results are in...

Leading manufacturers of laboratory and instrumentation equipment from all over the world were displaying the very latest technologies at ARABLAB 2009 in Dubai in January.

Despite the current global slowdown, ARABLAB, the industry’s biggest international show in the Middle East and Asia, has continued to grow – there were over 760 exhibitors from 48 countries, making the 2009 exhibition some 20% larger than the previous year – demonstrating not only the industry’s faith in Dubai as a key centre of business development, but also its confidence in this proven event that consistently delivers truly global results.

Whilst the number of visitors was slightly down on the previous year, analysis of the attendance shows that the usual large delegations from buying organisations had been reduced in size – reflecting the effects of the recession on travel and accommodation budgets. Nonetheless, over 7,000 visitors from more than 70 countries attended the show. Approximately 50% of visitors came from Arabia, the remaining being drawn from around the world, giving exhibitors a matchless international platform.

The associated seminar programme again offered invaluable opportunities to gain information about the very latest developments as well as providing a networking platform for both buyers and users. Over 50 seminars covered subjects from Nanomechanical Testing to Forensic Laboratory Management, from Near Intra Red Technology to Fast Gas Chromatography and Thermal Desorption.

Next year’s ARABLAB – the industry’s only event that covers all of the important growth markets of the Middle East, China, the Indian sub-continent, south-east Asia and Africa – will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from 9th to 13th January 2010. Already, over 65% of the available space for the 2010 event has been booked by regular exhibitors.

Full details of the 2010 event will be available in March. More information can be obtained from the show website: www.arablab.com
