Water-i.d. invests EUR 3 million in newly extended premises

As they approach their 20th anniversary since first opening for business, Water-i.d. GmbH, located in Eggenstein, near Karlsruhe in south-west Germany have moved into their newly extended building at the same company location to set the course for continued growth.

Having extended their main building, at a cost of around €3million, Water-i.d. have expanded their capacity by an additional 1,020 m² of production, storage and office area, necessitated by the company’s considerable levels of success over recent years

Water i.d. ensured that their headquarters was built with sustainable construction methods and renewable energies, meeting Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) 55 criteria, by installing a solar panel system to cover the entire roof of the building.

Water-i.d. provides over 100 million blistered reagent tablets, powder pillow reagents, liquid reagents and calibration solutions for electrochemistry at this site annually; packaging of orders, and warehousing, are also carried out in Eggenstein. The building also houses the company’s lab, where product development and quality control are all performed in-house, along with the IT department who are responsible for the company’s LabCOM app/software/cloud and the variety of programmes running on Water-i.d.’s photometers among many other crucial tasks.

Water-i.d. has had a considerable impact on the global water analysis sector over nearly two decades, primarily through their innovative solutions. They were the first manufacturer in this industry to produce reagent tablets in user-friendly, push-through blisters and they also offered the first photometers with parallel wavelength technology and wireless connectivity to a powerful software/app/cloud. Their products are now used in over 100 countries.

Water i.d.’s PoolLab 1.0 photometer, widely used in the private and public pool market, gained a total of 48,000 new users last year. Their PrimeLab 2.0 photometer replaced the PrimeLab 1.0 in December 2021 and includes 18 parallel wavelengths, a 5.5'' colour HD touch display, WiFi, USB and Bluetooth.
