The ‘ultimate photometer’ for water analysis
Aug 12 2022
Water-i.d.®’s latest photometer for water analysis: the PrimeLab 2.0, is already widely known as "The Ultimate Photometer".
The PrimeLab 2.0 provides end-users with over 140 flexibly selectable parameters and a sensor set-up measuring 18 wavelengths in parallel – thus offering a comparable level of precision to the various ‘high-end’ water photometers on the market. This instrument features a 5.5'' colour touch HD display and offers a Wi-Fi option to communicate with the free and powerful LabCOM® software, app and cloud directly or via a mobile device.
Water-i.d. has also integrated a QR scan camera to scan reagents and to detect sampling points. PrimeLab 2.0 users have the option of connecting electrodes via a small box ("eBOX 1.0") for pH, EC, TDS, ORP, and temperature to display these results and to facilitate managing them. This user-friendly device includes step-by-step instructions for every parameter on the display; this includes clear, animated graphics and a wide choice of different languages.
A variety of adapters ensure that changing between 24 mm/16 mm and 1 ml cuvettes is a simple operation to ensure the optimal conditions for the different methods. For example, different cuvettes are needed to determine chlorine, COD, the quantitative and certified 1-hour legionella test or, using the integrated 90° optics, the NTU turbidity, PTSA and fluorescence. These are just a small selection of the over 140 different parameters that the PrimeLab 2.0 can monitor. A rechargeable 8,400 mA Li-Io battery enables excellent performance and a lengthy period of operation. Memory in the GB range enables virtually unlimited storage of test results, these can all be linked to sampling points entered individually by the operator.
Sampling points and test results can both be uploaded instantaneously to the free LabCOM® cloud directly or with a mobile phone if Wi-Fi is activated or by using a GSM/USB stick so that the password protected measurement data is available both globally and immediately. The free LabCOM® app/software/cloud provides the end-user a wide range of functions, such as an admin module, which warns users of measurement results with a traffic light system for when measurements are exceeding the permissible range, or even if requisite measurements have not been carried out. "Rules" such as these can be individually programmed to meet the user’s specific criteria.
To complement the PrimeLab 2.0, Water-i.d.® also offers the COD chemical oxygen demand (COD) test kit as a complete solution for COD measurement. This kit consists of the PrimeLab 2.0, the new Water-i.d. COD cell tests, a COD reactor and Wateri.d.’s automatic pipettes. The combination of the PrimeLab 2.0 photometer with the highly accurate Water-i.d. COD cell tests ensures that the operator has everything necessary to ensure precise determination of COD in wastewater samples.
