London's air quality achieves high rating
Jan 06 2011
Data was compiled by AirNow, CITEAIR and the American Embassy in Beijing to determine the daily air quality indexes of some of the world's biggest cities, the Independent reports.
According to the statistics, London achieved 'good' air quality on both January 4th and 5th 2011, giving it a positive start to the year.
Other cities also to have achieved 'good' ratings on both days include Paris, Berlin and Brussels.
However, New York scored a less positive mark, being given a 'moderate' ranking on January 4th, while San Francisco achieved a 'moderate' rating on both days at the beginning of the new year.
Findings reported in December 2010 also indicate that air pollution levels in New Delhi have worsened over the course of the last few weeks, as the city was given a 'hazardous' score on January 4th, compared with an 'unhealthy' ranking the previous month.
