New Range of PPB Air Quality Sensors from DD-Scientific Delivers High-Accuracy Technology Across the Full Spectrum of Air Quality Instruments

DD-Scientific has successfully launched its highly anticipated range of ppb electrochemical gas sensors for air quality applications. The range, which debuted last month, is already making an impact, with early OEM trials proving successful in both ambient and indoor Air Quality application. Strong early demand underscores a growing market need for accurate, cost-effective sensors
capable of detecting low-level pollutants across the full spectrum of air quality applications. By bringing this new range to market, DDS promises to meet this need, helping OEMs in the air quality sector reduce their BOM costs.

The new range from DDS includes the 32mm 7-Series format, which is available immediately, and the 20mm 4-Series format, set for release later this year. Both formats are interchangeable with commonly used sensors from other manufacturers and provide a strong value proposition, setting a new benchmark in the air quality industry and offering OEMs a much-needed alternative to
legacy suppliers. A defining feature of the DDS offering is a commitment to adding value through continuous reinvestment in its cutting-edge, automated manufacturing facility in the UK. By increasing factory output and reducing labour costs, DDS creates substantial savings, which are passed on to customers, enabling high standards in material selection, quality, and production
values without compromising competitiveness. This approach has propelled DDS from a relative the industrial safety sector and is proving equally effective in the its entry into the air quality industry, DDS provides instrument manufacturers with the opportunity to enhance their product offerings, reduce production costs, and drive adoption on AQ instruments.

As environmental regulations tighten and public awareness grows, demand for instruments that can detect pollutants at low thresholds has intensified. The high sensitivity and robust durability of the DDS AQ range align perfectly with this trend, especially in industrial applications where precise measurement at low levels is essential. Additionally, this launch highlights a broader trend in the air quality sector, with increased focus on industrial emissions monitoring as part of end-to-end solutions that go beyond urban ambient monitoring. Industrial emissions remain a major source of air pollution, and the need for reliable, high-quality monitoring has never been more urgent. Meanwhile, data from indoor air quality monitors is increasingly scrutinised, underscoring the need for precise measurement over traditional red/green IAQ indicators. With DDS's high-performance sensors available at a more accessible price, IAQ instrument manufacturers can now deliver data quality comparable to that of ambient air quality monitors.

Beyond the strong value proposition of the sensors themselves, DDS’s status as an independent manufacturer offers unique advantages and an enhanced customer experience through direct factory engagement. The benefits of independence include quicker adaptation to market needs and a higher level of technical support—qualities frequently reflected by DDS customers in their own businesses.
