No Purge Snap Sampler
Apr 19 2011
Van Walt (UK ) launches the Snap Sampler, a novel groundwater sampling device. The Snap Sampler, the latest piece of equipment to be added, is unique in the UK. A passive sampler that collects your sample down in a well, in sealed bottles, which are then retrieved and sent directly to a laboratory for analysis. The sample is never exposed to the open air and collection of the sample does not require pumps, controllers, meters and purge water waste containers. It is simpler, safer and more cost effective to collect the samples and data quality is improved.
“Low volume purging, no purge or passive and diffusion sampling is relatively new to the UK,” said Vincent van Walt, Director. “But in the US low flow or micro purging is now an accepted method of sampling* and is becoming more popular in Europe. Passive or Diffusion Sampling was introduced in 2000 but has gained popularity in the States since 2006 and it’s easy to see why. It is easier and quicker to take samples; fewer pieces of equipment are required and there is no purge water to dispose of; variations in site conditions and the personnel taking the samples will not affect the quality of the results so there is improved data quality and field repeatability. In short using a Snap Sampler can save time, money and generate more accurate results.”
“The fact that the Snap Sampler has recently been awarded the National Groundwater Association Equipment Design Award only goes to underline our delight at becoming the UK & Ireland distributor,” concluded Vincent.
