Rapid Assessment of Microbiological Water Quality
Sep 19 2017
The Swedish Water and Waste Water Association (SWWA), has published a report "Enzyme in drinking Water as an indicator of bacterial biomass" by Dr. Ragnar Rylander, professor emeritus, Biofact. The report concludes that Mycometer’s Bactiquant-Water provides reproducible results and may be used to complete microbiological analysis when shorter repsonse times are needed. The report can be downloaded from the website of SWWA.
The Bactiquant-water product is used for quantifying total bacteria in water, slurries or other liquids. It is used for giving timely results in water utilities and Industry.
A key feature is that Bactiquant-water reduces analysis time for total bacteria from days to minutes. The method has been extensively documented in practiceby customers worldwide and has recently been verified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). The analysis results are highly reproducible ( RSD <7%) and provide relevant information about water treatment processes and microbiological water quality. Bactiquant analysis provides a comprehensive quantification of total bacterial presence that includes planktonic bacteria, particle associated bacteria, anaerobes as well as aerobes.
