OEM module for optical pH sensor
Jul 09 2020
The ultra-compact Pico-pH is a fiber-optic pH meter intended for OEM applications based on the proven high-precision Redflash technology from PyroScience. Among its stand-out features are low power consumption and contactless read-out of pH sensor spots through transparent vessel walls.
PyroScience’s Redflash technology is based on the unique analyte-sensitive Redflash sensor materials. In contrast to common techniques using blue-light excitation, the Redflash sensors are excitable with red light and display an analyte-dependent luminescence in the near infrared (NIR). This excitation with red light significantly reduces interferences caused by auto-fluorescent samples and decreases photobleaching to a minimum. The sensor spots can be used as disposable, making maintenance of long-term measurements simple by exchanging the sensor spot.
Pico-pH comes with a standard UART interface for integration into custom electronics. In addition, this OEM module can be connected via USB adapter cable for comfortable configuration, calibration and operation with a PC using the versatile Workbench software.
For temperature compensated measurements, it is possible to solder a Pt100 temperature probe (TSUB21-NC) to the OEM module.
For underwater solutions, PyroScience offer pressure stable optical connectors (SUB) which can be used to retrofit existing underwater equipment since its thread is compatible to the most popular deep-sea connectors.
In addition, PyroScience offers Pico OEM modules for oxygen and optical temperature sensors. The possibility of combining all these modules broadens the application range of PyroScience sensor systems and are valuable tools for applications in water- and wastewater-treatment, aquaculture, marine research and biotechnology.
