Continuous online analysis of TOC and POC levels in water with options for operation in ex-zones 1 and 2

Process InsightsQuickTOCuv analyser is a continuous online analyser for the determination of total organic carbon (TOC) in condensate, boiler feed water, cooling water, or pure water. The TOC is determined using the UV persulphate method in accordance with EN 1484:1997 and US-EPA 415.2. The unique highlight of the latest QuickTOCuv generation is the measurement of purgeable and volatile organic carbons (POC/VOC). This is realized by a unique process control within the device. Other analysers have problems here since volatile and purgeable organic substances are stripped out or gasified and are therefore not included in the measurement result. The QuickTOCuv shows its strength here, particularly in water circuits and cooling water applications in which purgeable substances frequently occur. This new POC measurement provides operators with meaningful results to optimally control their processes. The compact measuring system complies with common safety standards and has been designed to be particularly maintenance- and user-friendly. Moreover, the analyser can be equipped with explosion-proof housing for ex-zone 1 and 2 (also Class I Division 2) guaranteeing safe operation in hazardous areas.
