Water/Wastewater
Smart Photometry Spectrophotometer
Jan 26 2015
MACHEREY-NAGEL, an established German manufacturer of water testing systems, offers a complete system for water analysis in municipal and industrial waste water. This includes high quality photometers, heating blocks for sample digestion and user-friendly tube tests.
MACHEREY-NAGEL recently launched the NANOCOLOR® VIS II spectrophotometer, starting a new era of smart photometrics. The brand new instrument significantly raises the bar for ease of use, intuitive menu structure and versatility in photometric measurements to provide an even better user experience for customers.
To maximize intuitive handling and enhance the user experience, the instrument relies on an intuitive icon-based menu structure. The clear start screen provides an excellent overview about the instrument status and allows to instantly start the favorite methods and functions with one simple click. The integrated task bar enables to command the instrument with universally established functions and provides direct access to all menu options.
To support the smart menu structure, the instrument features an impressively brilliant 10” HD touch screen display. The projected capacitive touch function lets the customer use the instrument just like a smart phone or tablet, even when wearing safety gloves. Using the NANOCOLOR® VIS II is therefore based on fun and intuition, creating an unrivaled user experience in the laboratory.
On the technical side, the NANOCOLOR® VIS II impresses with clever mechanics and optics. Obviously, the NANOCOLOR® VIS II features the well-known and proven bar-code technology to quickly measure our NANOCOLOR® tube tests, while measuring NANOCOLOR® standard tests or pre-programmed methods is easily done as well.
The entirely new scan menu allows you to not only scan in real time at different resolutions, but to perform in depth analyses of the scans. The customer can highlight peaks and valleys, add and subtract scans and generate high quality images with no additional software or complex programming.
As a unique aspect of all MACHEREY-NAGEL spectrophotometers the NANOCOLOR® VIS II also features an integrated NTU measurement function, however, it has been significantly enhanced in the new instrument. The sensitivity has been increased to astonishingly low levels of 0.1 NTU now, enabling turbidity measurements even for drinking water applications. Additionally, our ingenious NTU-Check function brings additional safety to the user in the NANOCOLOR® VIS II as well as spotting interferring turbidity with every tube test measurement.
Another highlight that has been integrated into the instrument is its ability to measure color. The NANOCOLOR® VIS II features a built-in color measurement mode, that allows users to run color applications such as CIE L*a*b*, Hazen, ADMI and others. All the added functions make the NANOCOLOR® UV/VIS II an extremely powerful analytical tool, which is unique in the market.
All in all, MACHEREY-NAGEL launches an instrument that sets new standards for an entire industry in terms of innovation and intuitive use. The instrument is infused with MACHEREY-NAGELs passion for quality, precision and accuracy, while adding a new level of simplicity to customers’ daily work.
