Endress+Hauser’s portable water samplers make MCERTS compliance easy
Jun 13 2011
When selecting portable water monitoring equipment the MCERTS requirements take away much of your choice. Only a handful of manufacturers have had the confidence to submit their portable equipment to the rigorous test procedures required for certification. Endress+Hauser’s range of portable sampling equipment was redesigned with the certification requirements in mind, having already successfully achieved certification on its range of stationary samplers. As a result, when the new devices were recently subjected to the test procedures they passed with flying colours!
Monitoring of effluent, wastewater and surface water is, quite rightly, subject to stringent controls. The Environment Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme specifies that in many applications, certified monitoring equipment must be used in order to ensure the quality of environmental measurements being made in the field. Portable water monitors (PWMs) used to monitor wastewater treatment, natural rivers, lakes and estuarine environments, boreholes and trade effluents are subject to the requirements of the scheme.
Endress+Hauser has based the new samplers on its modular Liquiline CM44 transmitter platform concept that allows samplers to become complete measurement stations. Utilising innovative Memosens digital sensor technology, up to two analytical sensors of varying parameters can be connected directly to the sampler controller. In addition to the sampling statistics, the analytical measurements can be logged within the controller or in an optional integral SD card. The sampler controller allows very simple, structured and intuitive operation, with easy configuration and diagnosis and immediate indications of any alarms via the red display background.
The new samplers are available with an extensive range of options and alternatives that enable you to specify a device to suit your applications exactly. These include varying sampling regimes, choices in inputs and outputs, relays, suction hose diameters, bottle configurations, dosing system level detectors and temperature measurements, to name but a few. All are important in ensuring a representative sample is collected and that it is preserved until it is able to be tested.
For specifyers and end users, the MCERTS award on Endress+Hauser’s new range of samplers gives complete confidence in their ability, reliability and accuracy. Coupled with the advantages and advances provided by the new modular transmitter platform, you can be assured that Endress+Hauser can supply a sampler configuration to provide all your application requirements. What’s more, Applicator, Endress+Hauser’s online water sampler selection tool makes it easy to choose the right sampler for the job!
