Improved Measuring Board for Measuring Free Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide, Ozone or Hydrogen Peroxide
Sep 27 2013
The new measuring system Krypton DES from Dr A Kuntze (Germany) includes all you need for disinfection measurement: instrument, sensor, assembly and wiring. The system can measure Free Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide, Ozone and Hydrogen Peroxide. Measuring parameter and measuring range are chosen in the menu and can thus be changed without hardware. Only for measuring hydrogen peroxide and for measuring brine you need to have a special sensor.
Potentistatic measurements are flow dependent. The new assembly Argon Stabiflow provides a constant flow of approx.30 l/h. This ensures stable, precise and reliable measurement – and long life expectancy of Dr A Kuntze electrodes. Flow fluctuations no longer show in your measuring curves as long as you have a water inlet above 35 l/h.
The diagram shows the behaviour of the measured values at changing flow rates from a system without a flow controller in comparison to the Krypton Des system.
Due to the flow dependency, the flow during calibration had to be the same as during measurement. This is unconvertible in applications in which no disinfectant is dosed, e.g. when the system is used as a disinfection guard as in the inlet of a biologic waste water treatment or membrane chambers. With Krypton DES it is now possible to use a separate water cycle for calibration – the only thing you have to make sure is that your water inlet in the calibration cycle is also above 35 l/h.
You can tailor the features of the Neon controller to your application. The entry level version comes with inputs for disinfectant and temperature, key operation, one digital input and one alarm relay. The Neon controller can be configured by software upgrades and add-on modules. You can add up to two analogue outputs, control functions (PID concentration-based or volume-based) and various digital output functions, like Modbus and data logging.
Dr A Kuntze patented automatic sensor cleaning ASR can also be activated as an add-on. As usual you can choose how often you want ASR to clean. Due to the new real time clock you can now choose the start time for ASR and see the time of your next cleaning cycle.
Flow and temperature are guarded by an additional sensor (Zirkon FTG) which can be used for grounding. As a disinfectants sensor Dr A Kuntze's established double gold sensor Zirkon DES 231612500 is used. In comparison to membrane sensors, Zirkon DES 231612500 is zeropoint stable and there is no annoying refilling and no expensive changing of membrane caps.
