Quality Certification for Ultrasonic Sewer Flow Monitor Specialist
Sep 29 2013
Sewer flow survey instrumentation specialist, Detectronic (UK), has achieved ISO9001:2008 accreditation for its quality management systems from the Sira Certification Service. The internationally recognised approval covers all aspects of manufacture, marketing, hire and maintenance of ultrasonic velocity-area flow monitors and systems. It also recognises that the Detectronic equipment is intrinsically safe when used in the potentially explosive atmospheres that may occur in sewerage and drainage networks.
Managing director Steve Woods commented, “The Multi Sensor Flow Monitor (MSFM) is the core instrument in our range and there are now thousands in use throughout the world. Whilst Detectronic understands the care taken during design and manufacture, it is gratifying for us and reassuring for our customers to have our quality management systems recognised by a leading certification body.”
Detectronic equipment is deployed both in permanent sewerage network monitoring and in short term sewer flow surveys to determine network performance over a range of normal and extreme weather conditions. The MSFM is the only UK manufactured instrument used for such work. It is also unique in having a fully integrated GPRS daily data upload facility and a rechargeable battery on the main unit that is able to run for ten months before recharge, when logging at five minute intervals. Data may be uploaded to a client’s data centre, or to Detectronic’s professionally staffed data centre, to provide vital daily analysis and reporting for proactive network management.
Approval extends to April 2016 and the company will be subject to periodic re-assessment during this period. The approval has world-wide recognition and is in addition to Detectronic’s current intrinsically safe certification previously awarded to Detectronic by Sira.
