Water/Wastewater
Curiosity is the fundamental source of science.

Those words from CHEMetrics Founder and CEO Gordon Rampy point to the motivation that prompted him to launch the company more than 50 years ago. His curiosity about action that prompts reaction led directly to the invention of the self-filling ampoule for water analysis. This device enables CHEMetrics to simplify water analysis procedures without sacrificing accuracy. It is the core product on which CHEMetrics has made its name and built its reputation for serving analysts around the world.
The company’s commitment to offering high-quality, affordable water analysis test kits remains as steadfast as ever.
Building on the introduction of its first chlorine test kit in 1969, the company now carries a product line of nearly 500 items and supplies millions of tests each year to analysts in the power generation and petroleum refining industries, to name a few, as well to water treaters and reclamation specialists.
“We focus on manufacturing products that are both unquestionably accurate and easy to use, especially for often repeated tests,” says CHEMetrics President Bruce Rampy. “That’s who we are in a nutshell, and it’s why our customers keep coming back.”
The simple, plain white product containers of CHEMetrics’ earliest years have made way for more elegant, attractive branded packaging. Ever-changing regulatory requirements, meanwhile, now demand specialized labeling and safety data sheets for each product, component and carton shipped from the Eastern United States to destinations across the planet.
CHEMetrics has worked with many of its original European distributor partners – in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Germany and elsewhere – for more than three decades, some of which, like CHEMetrics itself, are now operated by second-generation family members.
Expansions of both the company’s product line and production facilities in recent years have allowed CHEMetrics to push into specialized markets to reach new customers who face new testing challenges. Through it all, the accuracy, dependability and simplicity of the company’s product and testing procedures have remained key to its growth.
