AUMA and Clippertech is an ACE Partnership for the Scottish Water Framework
Jul 22 2016
To support their 6-year framework contract with Scottish Water, electric valve actuator specialist AUMA UK are providing expert local technical and service support through process control and environmental engineering specialists Clippertech, of Fife. Key to the relationship is AUMA’s ACE Partner Programme, a formal commercial arrangement with a three level training system that guarantees service and support to AUMA’s exacting standards.
Clippertech is a well-known and respected supplier to Scottish Water, with a network of service engineers operating throughout the region. They have committed to the ACE programme, with staff attending two-day training courses at AUMA’s UK Head Office near Bristol. As Clippertech Managing Director Nick Marshall said, “It is very important that we are able to show Scottish Water that our people are properly qualified to carry out a full range of support activities on the equipment they work on. With our card-carrying ACE technicians, we are proving our competence to support AUMA equipment on sites throughout Scottish Water.”
AUMA actuators are modular in design, with connectors, controllers, drives and gearboxes specified for particular applications, but easily interchangeable. That means that stocks can be held at Clippertech so that response to swap-out service requests can often be measured in hours or days rather than the several weeks that others often quote.
“The dual supply electric actuator framework with Scottish Water will run for a minimum of six years. It represents a wonderful opportunity for AUMA to continue our long-standing support of Scottish Water with products and service” said AUMA Managing Director Paul Hopkins.
AUMA’s ACE programme is a three level training and accreditation system, delivered at AUMA’s Clevedon Head Office. Level 1 is designed for OEMs who need to set up actuators off-site, while Level 2 is available to both service partner organisations and water company staff and covers on-site installation, service and repair. AUMA has already trained card-carrying Level 2 ACE technicians throughout the water/wastewater industry. A Level 3 Technician is able to deliver support equivalent at a systems level to AUMA’s well-established in-house service team, giving choice and flexibility to UK customers. Level 3 training is only available to AUMA’s key service partner organisations such as Clippertech.
