International design award for new ultrasonic level transmitter
Sep 07 2021
ABB’s LST200 ultrasonic level transmitter has recently won the prestigious Red Dot Award, a globally renown prize for design. The awards jury stated: ‘This robust level gauge impresses with a simplicity that has been thought through down to the last detail. It presents itself as a proven means of ensuring efficiency and reliability’.
The LST200 was awarded best in category for both physical and technical design; the victorious transmitter stands out by solving the surface condensation challenge where a build-up of water has traditionally affected the precision of vital plant readings. ABB’s award winner utilises active surface technology called the “Lotus Effect” in which the surface liquid falls off before pooling into larger droplets that go on to create problems, This efficient and cost-effective solution made the LST200 ultrasonic level transmitter a winner among the over 15,000 entrants from over 70 nations.
