Water Quality Monitoring

Miniaturised multiparameter water probe offers an ideal solution for borehole monitoring and other tight water monitoring applications

The new AP-6000 multiparameter water quality probe from Aquaread incorporates a new and considerably smaller self-cleaning system. With a diameter of just 55mms this compact system is ideal for tight applications such as borehole monitoring. Until recently this type of application was problematic with the 77mm diameter AP-7000 model, so the new version not only facilitates applications such as borehole monitoring, its compact size cuts costs of ownership.

The new water quality probe features the standard measurement parameters including pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity (EC) temperature and depth. Four auxiliary sockets enable the operator to install further sensors to obtain the specific data demanded for each monitoring task.

Maintenance of the probe is simple. The self-cleaning unit can be removed easily from the body of the probe. It incorporates a small and powerful motor which rotates the wiper brushes to clean all of the probe’s sensors. The system needs less power to operate than the previous models, which is very advantageous for unmanned installations.

This highly versatile water quality probe is compact enough to fit in the convenient case provided with each unit. This makes it easy to carry and use combined with Aquaread’s GPS Aquameter, their original handheld water quality meter with built-in GPS. The self-cleaning system enables deployment with Aquaread’s Aqualogger, a remote monitoring logging device, for onsite medium-term installations. When the AP-6000 is incorporates with a telemetry system all of the measurement data can be accessed online.
