The cash injection will go to the Ballymoney area and was announced at a council meeting last week, reported the Ballymoney Times.
Recently, the firm witnessed the opening of the £8 million Glenstall Wastewater Treatment Works, into which it also invested funds.
Chris Mellor, chairman and chief executive of Northern Ireland Water, said: "I am confident that over the next few years this investment will bring tremendous sustainable benefits to households, local industry, businesses and tourism."
Included in the improvements will be upgrades to the Loughguille Wastewater Treatment Works and the replacement of Mounthamilton Sewage Pumping Station.
In other wastewater news, it was announced yesterday that Mexico City will receive a new wastewater treatment facility worth £2.5 billion in the future.
