Multi-functional manometer offers simple and accurate industrial stack gas flow measurement

The new, multifunctional MF Plus Manometer from MRU GmbH offers a simple, yet efficient method of measuring traverse point volumetric flow rates in industrial stacks, compliant to European Standard EN16911-1 and ISO 10780 and USEPA 40CFR Part 60, Method 2.

This unit can perform simultaneous measurements of differential and barometric pressure and temperature, whilst adjusting to conditions of wet or dry gas. It will also work out current and average data, either with ‘start-stop’, or a pre-set average time, of up to 10 minutes and calculate absolute or static pressure in the stack, whilst adjusting to compensate for ambient barometric pressure. MF Plus is also capable of automatically calculating point average data for compliance to EN 15259, whilst its intuitive menu allows you to make traverse point flow rate measurements in ducts, stacks and pipes in accordance with EN 16911. MF Plus can calculate up to 100 traverse point measurements in a single stack, can perform swirl correction in case of cyclonic flow, calculation of nozzle and indication of correct flow for isokinetic sampling of dust, according to EN 13284-1 and has a datalogger of velocity and flow for long term measurement, with graphic on display and export on CSV file.

This versatile instrument allows the user to manually input the stack’s cross sectional parameters, such as size, diameter and number of traverse points within the grid. You can also input gas data composition for gas density calculations to create standard/normalised conditions. MF Plus is highly adaptable and fits in with all Pitot tube models and compensates for the Pitot angle and wall effects. The high volume measurement data can be transferred to an SD card in CSV format.
