Over 100 Years: From Augers to Remote Data Access
Nov 12 2014
Since 1911, Eijkelkamp Agrisearch Equipment (the Netherlands), a Royal Eijkelkamp Company, has developed into one of the leading soil and water research equipment companies.
Together with other Royal Eijkelkamp companies, SonicSampDrill and Eijkelkamp Academy, Eijkelkamp Agrisearch Equipment focuses its products and services on supporting sustainable land and water use. ‘The operating pressure on land and water is continually increasing, and with it the demand for Eijkelkamp Agrisearch Equipment products and services’, says Managing Director, Frank Tillmann. ‘Many sectors of the economy use land and water, and need information about the environment. The global increase in environmental laws and regulations also plays a role. We have translated these market developments into 6 themes within which we operate: Pollution, Food Security, Land Degradation, Natural Resources, Land Development and Urbanisation. Our staff is passionately involved with these themes on a daily basis, developing and delivering solutions that make a difference.’
‘Our product portfolio of more than 3,000 items has changed considerably over the past 100 years. The focus in the early years was on drilling equipment, including the world famous Edelman auger. Today, Eijkelkamp Agrisearch Equipment has everything in-house to offer what customers demand; validated and secure soil and water data, 24 hours per day. We are especially advanced in the field of water quantity and quality. Our low-power and maintenance-friendly systems use sensors to measure water levels or water quality. The collected data are sent telemetrically via modems to the Eijkelkamp Control Room at our head office in the Netherlands. In this way Eijkelkamp Agrisearch Equipment controls thousands of measuring points for organisations including municipalities and water boards. We have also developed software to validate the measurement results, ensuring that customers using our services receive correct data.’
‘If you face challenges in the area of soil or water measurement, do contact us and present these to our consultants. We will be delighted to work with you to develop new solutions.’
