Turn field data into actionable insights

Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection is expanding its industry connectivity efforts with the launch of Teledyne GDCloud™, a new proprietary cloud-based solution. This innovative platform is now available for use with the company’s GS700, GS500, and Shipsurveyor portable gas leak detectors, as well as the PS200 portable four-gas monitor, which are used in personal safety and confined space applications. By integrating cloud connectivity, Teledyne GDCloud™ significantly enhances the gas leak detection process, turning instrument data into actionable insights that drive more informed business decisions.

Teledyne GDCloud™ is a comprehensive solution designed to elevate the gas detection process. It records hazardous events, ensures regulatory compliance, and helps streamline safety programs. One of the platform's standout features is the ability to visualise detailed gas sensor readings from field sessions. Users can track the routes taken by technicians during investigations using advanced location mapping. The platform’s breadcrumb mapping feature shows precise locations corresponding to all gas readings logged by the GS700 detector, making it easier to pinpoint leaks, analyse hazards, and document emission sources. This location intelligence is invaluable for both operational efficiency and safety compliance. Additionally, the platform allows users to interact with dynamic charts and data displays, providing further insights into field activity and events.

Teledyne GDCloud™ also supports condition-based fleet management, helping businesses run cost-effective and efficient monitoring programs. The platform tracks equipment status, fault reports, and provides remote diagnostics from Teledyne experts. Alarm prioritisation ensures that critical and urgent data is addressed first, before lower-priority risks are considered. The platform’s intuitive and customisable dashboard gives users full visibility into the operational and compliance status of their entire fleet of gas detectors. Widgets can be configured to display key information in a way that aligns with user preferences, and colour-coded indicators immediately highlight significant field events, such as instruments needing calibration or bump testing. This feature helps ensure the continued accuracy and performance of the detectors.

Nick Wood, Global Marketing Director at Teledyne GFD, commented: "Stringent record-keeping is crucial for demonstrating regulatory compliance with gas safety protocols."
He added: “Teledyne GDCloud™ securely stores comprehensive calibration data records for every detector. Users can quickly access and document an instrument's recent operational history, including all past calibration readings, bump test status, the technicians involved and any relevant service notes, providing a meticulous audit trail with simple reporting at a touch of a button.”

In addition to its compliance and fleet management capabilities, Teledyne GDCloud™ provides visualisations of field events and projected gas hazards based on location-mapped readings. It also includes meticulous record-keeping and intelligent fleet tracking, making it a powerful tool for any gas detection program. The solution operates independently of the user's IT infrastructure and can be retrofitted quickly to existing GS700, GS500, Shipsurveyor, or PS200 instrument fleets.

Teledyne GFD has successfully rolled out Teledyne GDCloud™ globally, with many customers already reaping the benefits. The company is committed to continuing the development of this solution to meet future advancements in the field.
