Your Selection Made Simple with New Modular PAPR System
Aug 09 2013
Industrial workers around the world rely on Scott Safety’s (USA) respiratory protection to keep them safe and with innovation and quality at the heart of everything it does. Scott Safety’s latest Modular Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) product range allows workers to tailor their respiratory solution to their requirements, ensuring maximum user acceptance and protection.
Designed as a ‘Pick and Play’ solution, the Modular PAPR system allows users to select from interchangeable blowers, headtops and hoses to ensure they can access the most appropriate respiratory protection solution for their needs. As respiratory experts, Scott Safety helps customers to make the right choice of respiratory protection with a comprehensive range of powered air respirators to protect workers from a wide range of respiratory hazards.
The Spirit and Spirit SX powered air respirators, offer an advanced level of electronic controllability that is fully programmable to meet the precise needs of the user and their application. Each has an adjustable flow with particle filters from 170l/min to 220l/min with automatic diagnostic check at start-up, a large colour display of operating status and a suite of alert, warning and alarm notifications. If using the SX version, airflow is adjustable in precise increments and the smart filter identification automatically recognises and displays filter type and prevents mismatched or badly fitted filters.
The Proflow SC and Tornado powered air respirators complete the range with Proflow offering an intelligent, easy to use solution and Tornado providing filtered air for the widest range of industrial applications as diverse as industrial welding, agriculture and waste disposal. ATEX versions are available for both Proflow and Tornado units for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Scott Safety’s versatile range of headtops and masks are ergonomically designed to provide greater comfort, are compatible with other PPE and offer high levels of protection and reliable performance. From half hoods to full hoods available in a variety of materials, Scott Safety’s range is light-weight and comfortable and incorporates a number of features that are designed to make the user’s job easier by providing the ultimate protection and comfort. To minimise the cost of ownership, disposable visors also available. The increased ‘field of view’ in the soft headtops makes them more practical over a wide range of tasks. The revolutionary mesh headgear on the newest headtops enhances comfort and makes donning intuitive.
The range includes flip-up visors and faceshields, a welding visor, a range of half mask and full face masks together with half and full head tops, all incorporating the highest levels of protection alongside the latest technology and design to increase wearer acceptability.
Every FH headtop can be fitted with a choice of hoses and accessories with components that can be simply replaced to extend the lifetime or a product, with other accessories available to improve worker safety during various weather conditions or specialist applications.
The most critical aspect of any respiratory system is the filtration technology and a wide range of filters are available capable of removing specific airborne contaminants, such as particle, organic (high & low boiling points) and inorganic gases. Scott Safety has recently launched its own filter selection tool, SureLife, an online tool that recommends the most suitable filter based on the user’s data.
