Aberdeen Centre Continues to be a Key Business Success
Mar 26 2013
Safety specialist Draeger Safety UK Limited (UK), plans to invest a further £1 million into the expansion of its dedicated centre in Aberdeen, following a successful three years since opening.
Since opening, Dräger has seen demand for its products and services expand, so much that business has increased, new jobs have been created, which has trebled the number of full time Dräger specialists available to meet growing customer requirements.
Located just 20 minutes from the international harbour, the centre on Tern Place in Bridge of Don, offers a dedicated Dräger training facility with a range of courses to prepare its customers prior to going offshore. In addition to on-site training and repair workshop facilities, customers can also hire, purchase and maintain Dräger products and have direct access to Dräger experts.
Dräger’s recent expansion included the introduction of a third flexible lecture suite and the development of an IT suite so that customers can access existing and newly developed e-learning courses. The Breathing Apparatus and Gas Detection maintenance area has also increased and the workshop and warehouse spaces are now double in size. The increasingly popular rental business has had more space dedicated to it, to support the expanding business and the introduction of the new FRS rental capability.
Plans are in place to develop a practical training facility adjacent to the current building, providing realistic training scenarios for courses including H2S, Authorised Gas Tester levels 1, 2 and 3, Confined Space Training, Search and Rescue and Working at Height.
Fiona Revie, Centre Manager at Dräger’s Aberdeen office, has worked at the Aberdeen centre for two years said: “With sales and service subsidiaries in over 40 countries including the UK, Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and now Aberdeen, we are perfectly positioned to service our Oil and Gas customers from the heart of the industry, surrounding the North Sea.
“The team and I are extremely proud of what we have already achieved here in Aberdeen. We are looking forward to our future expansion plans coming to fruition and continuing to serve our customers in Aberdeen and beyond with products and training that protect plant and personal safety.”
