Hire Demand for Test Instruments
Jul 03 2012
During May 2012 Ashtead Technology (UK) exhibited some of their latest test and measurement instrumentation at both Sustainabilitylive! and the Safety & Heath Expo. Both exhibitions took place in consecutive weeks at Birmingham’s NEC and marketing manager Stewart Curtis says “They were an outstanding success with over 160 enquiries for both sales and rental being taken at each event, which is very encouraging considering the current economic climate.”
Ashtead Technology is a distributor for the TSI particulate monitors and these handheld instruments generated the most interest at the Safety & Heath Expo, whilst infrared cameras were the most popular at Sustainabilitylive!
“There is a great deal of concern with the effects of dust and smoke in the workplace and the ambient environment so we were not surprised that the TSI equipment was popular, and our FLIR infrared cameras are frequently employed in building energy surveys which accounted for much of the interest in these instruments,” Stewart added.
On each day of these shows Ashtead invited visitors to ‘Dash for a Wii’ – visitors were given a raffle ticket in exchange for their mobile phone number and a draw took place at 2.30pm, after which the winner was texted and tweeted. He or she then had 60 seconds to dash back to the stand in order to win a brand new Nintendo Wii Console with sports package. This proved extremely popular and Stewart is delighted to report “there were no injuries – which would have been a little embarrassing at the Safety Expo!”
