DD Scientific Dual Gas Sensor Makes MultiGas Detection Easy

As instrument designers strive to provide the greatest functionality within their gas detection equipment, one of the key challenges is space. A typical portable detector needs to measure as a minimum oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and flammable gases. Each of those species traditionally requires an individual sensor occupying volume and instrument designs become larger as a result. Larger instruments mean poorer ergonomics for the end user as they become heavier and bulkier to carry all day.

The GS+4DT dual gas sensor removes those limitations providing as it does, the ability to sense both carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide in the same 20mm diameter package. The electrochemical sensor is designed with two separate channels, one for each hazardous gas. There is no compromise on performance as the dual gas sensor responds just as quickly and accurately as two discrete sensors and with the same long lasting reliability. Internal filters ensure the sensor keeps on going in even the harshest environments in the toughest life safety applications. As a result of our rigorous catalyst selection and electrode manufacture, there is little to no cross interference between the two channels removing the chance of false alarms and guaranteeing that if there is an unsafe condition, the sensor will respond.

With the GS+4DT sensor on board, instrument designers are free to develop smaller, easier to use detectors, or to make use of the available space by including additional batteries or extra functionality. End users benefit as now their instruments can do more, or are simply less tiresome to carry around all day.

The GS+4DT comes backed with DD Scientific’s enviable reputation for quality, design, integration and application support.
