Monitor and Control Indoor Air Quality with the Touch Screen IAQ Monitor
Jun 30 2011
PPM Technology (UK) is pleased to announce their latest IAQ monitoring instrument - the Touch Screen IAQ Profile Monitor is built with an integrated 3.5” touch screen panel. Each unit can monitor up to 8 customer specified IAQ parameters. The user is able to navigate through the software and various sensor options simply by touching the panel. Readings are displayed continuously and in real-time and are also stored on the instruments internal memory.
Remote monitoring is possible, the user can view the data and control monitoring in real-time on a PC/Laptop from any location. Various modes of communication are possible including Wifi, GSM, Ethernet, USB and Zigbee. This feature allows the user to set up text-message alerts when the instrument detects an overexposure; the necessary personnel or authorities will be notified of the danger immediately. When overexposure occurs the software can also automatically trigger and control 3rd party relays such as building alarms or HVAC systems.
Real-time two-way communication can be achieved using remote monitoring. The remote ‘supervisor’ can send a question or command. This can, for example, be used as a prompt to ensure the unit has been calibrated - ‘Unit Calibrated?’ Can be sent remotely and displayed instantaneously on the instrument’s panel, the receiver can reply ‘Yes/No’ by pressing the necessary command on the touch screen. We anticipate many safety related applications for this feature.
The ‘touch screen’ software allows simple control and navigation; the user can view the data graphically, create monitoring schedules, produce reports and statistical data, analysis of the data facilitates more effective and economical building management.
The Touch Screen IAQ Profile Monitor can be used as a stand-alone IAQ monitor or can be integrated into a wider network of IAQ monitoring instruments. It can be networked with the Wireless IAQ Profile Monitor, which can monitor up to 8 IAQ parameters at each unit. A large number of wireless units can be networked together to provide detailed monitoring of an entire building. A compact model is also available the Mini IAQ Profile Monitor for up to 5 sensors.
