Filtration System Protects Boiler Units from Syngas Contaminants…
Sep 29 2010
MF&T, the Porvair Filtration Group Gas Division, have been awarded a contract from a landfill gas operator to provide new filter units to protect the boiler units from contaminants in the syngas.
The filter units provided were based on the Megga Gaz Slimline range but with a new design constructed entirely from stainless steel and providing a cleanable filter unit. The Slimline range was developed for installations where filter systems were required to be fitted in positions where conventional cylindrical filter assemblies were not possible due to space restrictions.
Porvair Filtration Group (Gas Division) provides a total filtration service to natural gas, offshore oil and gas industries - from single elements to complete skid-mounted systems. The company is active in a number of areas concerning the generation and safeguarding of energy production, and is leading innovations in gasification technologies to enable the production of synthetic natural gas (syngas or biogas) as part of alternative clean energy techniques. The clean-up of natural gas by the filtration of particulate and the separation of liquids using the latest separation techniques, ensures that the cost of ownership to the network companies is minimised and the availability of clean, dry natural gas is ensured. Porvair are also using their expertise in filtration technology in a variety of fuel cell projects where our high performance media is a pre-requisite for this emerging and developing technology.
