Gas detection
New standards in gas monitoring, controller with up to 8 channels
Jun 02 2009
GasGard XL from MSA (Germany) sets new standards of excellence in gas monitoring. Among other unique features the user can easily configure the controller for up to eight channels in conjunction with the well-proven MSA flammable, toxic and oxygen sensors / transmitters.
All configuration settings can easily be made by either the front panel keyboard or by uploading data from a laptop via USB or RS485 ModBUS connection. All alarms and faults are recorded in an ’event log’ and the Ethernet port can be used for SCADA visualization. The robust wall mount enclosure, made of flame retardant ABS material, has a large multi-language graphic LCD that simultaneously displays all gas levels and event status. Full system status and configuration data are easily retrieved. Relays common to all channels as well as individual per channel are included and can be operated in ’fail-safe’ mode. Two addressable common horn relays are also provided. In the event of an alarm or common system fault condition, both visual LED’s and audible warnings are activated. Installation is simplified even if inflexible wires are used, thanks to the location of input and output terminal’s and optimised internal layout and the 23 pre-formed holes for cable gland entries. The GasGard XL comes with an internal buzzer and optional battery backup to provide continuity of power in case of temporary mains failure. Its inherent versatility and ease-of-use provides protection from potentially hazardous conditions in a variety of plants.Digital Edition
