Gas detection
New technology to be displayed at Sensor + Test
Mar 28 2019
Since their last participation at the Sensor + Test exhibition in Nuremberg, the product range of selective gas sensors at Membrapor has been enhanced further. Their product range includes now more than 300 sensors for a very wide spectrum of gases. If you do not find the target gas on the Membrapor web site, you should ask the technical support team who will be glad to help or visit the Membrapor stand at Sensor + Test 2019 (Hall 5 stand 143).
This year, Membrapor is introducing the acid sensor. The Acid/C-100 and Acid/M-100 open up the possibility of detect carboxylic acids and organic acids in general. They are mainly intended to measure acetic and formic acid at low concentrations of only a few ppm.
Membrapor is also happy to announce the introduction of a new, highly selective ethylene (C2H4) sensor. This improved ethylene sensor reduces the effect of interfering gases such as carbon monoxide (CO) and alcohols which is for example crucial in fruit ripening processes.
Both gases together result in false C2H4 readings and would require additional sensor units to correct for it. The diagram shows the improved selectivity of the A-type compared to the conventional C2H4/C-10 sensor when exposed to 100 ppm of carbon monoxide. It can be seen that there is a significant reduction of the cross-sensitivity, which is about 4 times lower than before. The new C2H4/CA-10 makes a reliable monitoring of ethylene possible. Together with the highly sensitive CO sensor from Membrapor, the CO/CF-200, you will protect plants and human beings in the greenhouse.
