Phocheck+ Triumphs in Stringent PID Testing Process
Jun 23 2008
The evaluation process consisted of both laboratory and field components. The lab tests used an ME DEP developed ââ¬Ëgas trainââ¬â¢ to simulate soil contaminated with fuel oil or gasoline, allowing the ME DEP to set the contamination and vary the humidity. Zero air was then used to adjust the concentrations.
The field test involved using instruments on remediation sites for bag
headspace analysis. Several instruments were found to be unsuitable field units for varying reasons including unstable readings, slow response and limited range (less than 2000 ppm).
After initial testing, PhoCheck+ 3000Ex was compared and evaluated for ease of use, speed, repeatability and linearity between concentrations.
The PhoCheck+ 3000Ex was proven to give more consistent, clear readings and faster to read results. Maine has now selected PhoCheck+ 3000Ex as the most suitable PID instrument to meet their requirements.
Like all Ion Science PIDs, PhoCheck+ incorporates Ion Science patented
Fence Electrode Technology; a unique three electrode format enabling
increased resistance to both humidity and contamination.
