InfraTec (Germany) won a Gold Level Sensors Magazine “Best of Sensors Expo” Award in the Sensor Components category for its Tunable Microspectrometer Detector. Sensors Executive Editor Melanie Martella presented the award on June 7, 2011 at the Sensors Expo & Conference, which was held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
Twelve gold, silver, bronze and honorable mention awards were presented in four categories: Sensors; Sensor Components; Technologies; and Data Acquisition. Exhibitors submitted new product nominations, and entries were judged on the basis of potential impact, application, distinctiveness, timeliness and availability.
“The nominations demonstrated exceptional innovation, integration and ease of use,” said Martella. “We applaud them all.”
The LFP-80105-337 tunable detector is a member of a unique family of products designed to scan over a range of wavelengths to detect gases in a broad range of applications. This detector operates in the range of (8 - 10.5) μm where many gases in the medical market, law enforcement (breath and alcohol sensing) and other critical environmental applications are found.
