Queen’s Award for Enterprise Winner
Apr 24 2012
Edinburgh Instruments (UK), manufacturers of high-end photonic and electro-optical scientific instrumentation, has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise – International Trade, one of the most coveted awards in UK industry. These awards are made by The Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister, assisted by an Advisory Committee and recognise the winners for being among the most successful companies in the UK and for their outstanding achievement in international trade.
Gaining the Queens Award for Enterprise is a great honour for the company, which currently employs around 70 people, and recognises the sustained international growth that the company has achieved, keeping the company firmly on target to increase turnover by £1.3 million to £9.5 million this year, such is the international demand for its wide ranging instrumentation product portfolio.
Commenting on the award, Alan Faichney, Chief Executive Officer, Edinburgh Instruments said: “We are deeply honoured to have won the Queens Award for Enterprise. Our success can be attributed to the specialised skills and commitment from the entire team at Edinburgh Instruments who have the vision to design and create our wide range of photonic and sensor products used in research and industrial facilities across the globe. This Queens Award belongs to them. Our thanks also go to Scottish Enterprise who have assisted us very effectively in many ways over the past two years."
