Precision Carbon Dioxide Detection
Jan 27 2014
Eblana Photonics Ltd. (Ireland) is pleased to showcase the powerful and highly coherent EP2004-DM single mode laser, specifically designed for Carbon Dioxide (CO2) detection using Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS). This laser is available in an industry standard, hermetically sealed 14-pin “butterfly package”, including an integrated TEC and optical isolator. In addition, the EP2004-DM is available in Eblana’s purpose built DX-1 Sensing package, which combines the butterfly packaged laser with an integrated TEC controller and bias current driver, eliminating the need for costly electronics.
The EP2004-DM features inherently low optical linewidth and a wide, mode-hop free tuning range, due to Eblana’s proprietary Discrete-Mode (DM) technology, which enables single mode performance equal to or greater than traditional DFB lasers, but at a more competitive price point.
The EP2004-DM is the latest addition to Eblana’s growing portfolio of laser diodes for gas sensing, which already includes lasers for Acetylene-C2H2 (1521nm), Moisture-H20 (1392nm, 1877nm), Ammonia-NH3 (1512nm) and Methane-CH4 (1654nm), as well as recently released products for Hydrogen Fluoride-HF (1278nm) and Hydrogen Chloride-HCl (1742nm). Sales and Marketing Manager Dr. Rob Lennox says, “I am delighted to report that the EP2004-DM, one of our most important laser products to date, has been receiving an extraordinary response since its release and an ever increasing customer demand. Our continued aim is to bring Eblana’s expertise to bear on the CO2 detection market and provide a compelling and competitive product for gas-sensing OEMs in this area”.
