New Approvals Certify Gas Transmitter for use in a Wide Range of Problematic Applications

Nov 11 2016

The GTR 210 range of gas transmitters, from ADOS GmbH (Germany) are ideal for continuous measurement of gases in a variety of situations, including potentially explosive areas. The standard measuring ranges of combustible gases (alkane: methane…nonane)  were recently expended  for hydrogen, ethanol and ammonia. The certification to EN 60079-29-1 and EN 50271 puts the GTR range at Safety Integrity Level of SIL1.

This has allowed  ADOS to fulfill the TRAS 110 requirements needed to operate the instruments in ammonia refrigeration plants, which has to shut down if NH3 presence reaches 30.000 ppm. The GTR 210 is already conformed to DEKRA 11 ATEX 0257 X: IECEx DEK 11.0090 X, Protection: Ex d e ia mb IIC T4 Gb SIL 1 & functional test and BVS 12 ATEX G 001 X.

GTR 210 provides 6 different types of sensor, so noxious, explosive and non-combustible gases and vapour can all be measured. Display of the measured gas concentration and the adjustable alarm thresholds, are shown on a multicolour graphic display.

The GTR 210 can equally operate in complex field of applications such as marine (option MED) for use in places with more elaborate criteria including gas tankers, container ships and offshore installations that need to meet the requirements of  Marine Equipment Directive 96/98/EC and its yearly revised addendum 2013/52/EU.
