Gas Detection
German gas analysis technology that keeps rigs and shipping safe in the harshest of conditions
Jul 24 2018
ADOS’ GTR 210 gas transmitter product family includes a ‘MED’ version which complies with the requirements of the 96/98/EC Marine Equipment Directive and its annual updated addendum 2014/90U.The conformity with this regulation has been certified by the German Government Safety Organisation for Transport and Transport Economies’ Ship Safety Division.Thecompliance with international IEC standards and the durability against saltwater was verified.
The GTR 210 MED as transmitter can now be installed under deck as well as on deck (weather zone) under harsh conditions. The field of application extends to gas tankers, container ships, offshore platforms and applications in aggressive environments. The GTR 210 MED is capable of protecting the crew against poisoning and explosive atmospheres under deck. These toxic atmospheres can be created by the leakage of cooling agents, such as ammonia, which can be explosive in high concentrations.
One of the leading manufacturers of marine solutions already relies on GTR 210 EX IR CO2 for the automatic control of cargo hold ventilation systems.
To keep their marine approved gas transmitter in good company, ADOS also offer their FlexADOS 914 MED evaluation unit that holds aDNV-GL class certificate and fulfills the requirements of the Marine Equipment Directive 2014/90/EU (marking: MED wheel mark). Together with the GTR 210 gas transmitter family, FlexADOS 914 achieves safety integrity level SIL1 and can be used for primary explosion protection. Both of these products are available with protection class IP 66/IP67. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact us: www.ados.de
