Real time water quality analyser offers unique modular concept to enable multiple measurement technologies in one instrument
Aug 08 2019
Tethys Instruments manufactures a variety of instrumentation offering a range of different technology for water quality analysis. This range includes UV spectroscopy (including ‘after gas striping’), UV fluorescence, colormetric, nephelometric and electrochemical sensors.
Tethys provide a unique modular concept to offer the flexibility to choose a number of technologies integrated in to a single analyser. This modular concept opens up the opportunity to simultaneously monitor several different parameters at wastewater treatment plants with a low operating cost and superb stability. As an example, Tethys can provide an analyser which will measure COD, BOD and TSS by UV spectroscopy whilst analysing for ammonia by UV spectroscopy after gas striping, oil in water by UV fluorescence, phosphate by colormetry, turbidity with nephelometry and pH, D.O and T.S.S. with external sensors.
These instruments incorporate automatic zero calibration, an automatic cleaning function, a USB port to enable software updates and configuration back-ups and restoration and a UV source of a xenon flash lamp with in excess of 10 years lifespan. The EQMS (Effluent Quality Monitoring System) will monitor COD, BOD, pH and TSS – with the additional option for chlorine.
These analysers are simple to operate and configure as they have a colour touch screen and intuitive interface. The screen is protected by an acid resistance layer of film and the instrument includes a host of test functions for checking and trouble-shooting maintenance diagnostics.
